What is this tool about?
AKISinteract is an open-access tool designed to map, analyse and monitor interactions within Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKISs) across Europe. The tool collects quantitative and qualitative information on relationships among AKIS actors and transforms these data into visual representations of connectivity, patterns at regional, national and EU levels. It also generates quantitative indicators that measure the degree of interaction within AKIS, enabling the monitoring and comparison of interactivity across territories and over time.
Through a simple and anonymous survey, users can contribute information about the interactions they experience within their AKIS. The resulting evidence helps policymakers, AKIS coordination bodies, researchers, advisors, farmers and other agri-food actors better understand the strengths and gaps in AKIS and identify opportunities to strengthen their AKIS.

Take the AKIS Interactivity SurveyMonitoring AKIS interactivity across Europe
To support evidence-based policymaking and AKIS development, AKISinteract will provide regular updates on the state of AKIS interactivity in the European Union. Member States, AKIS coordination bodies, researchers, evaluators and other interested stakeholders may request additional information or specific data extracts from the AKISinteract database. Data requests can be submitted through the information request form available at Interactivity Data.
Biannual AKIS interactivity reports
Every six months (January and July), a report summarising the state of AKIS interactivity across the EU will be published. These reports provide insights into:
- Levels of interaction among AKIS actors
- Changes in connectivity patterns over time
- Emerging strengths and bottlenecks in AKIS networks
- Comparative perspectives across Member States and regions
The reports aim to support AKIS coordination bodies, managing authorities, researchers, evaluators, policymakers and other actors in monitoring and improving AKIS performance.
