Join nowThe second Capacity Needs Assessment (CNA) was conducted by modernAKIS in 2024 to help shape the project’s 2025 activity agenda. A total of 133 participants contributed to this edition. Compared to the 2023 CNA, key shifts include a stronger focus on generational renewal, AKIS capacity building, and the evaluation of AKIS systems and strategies. While modernization and innovation support remain high priorities, climate action saw a decline in prioritization. The Capacity Needs Assessment of Key AKIS Actors was conducted in 2023, for the first time across EU. Based on input from 101 participants, the assessment identified top priorities to address through the AKIS strategies such as advisory services, knowledge exchange, and innovation support services. It also highlighted the need to deepen understanding of how AKIS strategies can contribute to climate change mitigation, sustainable resource management, farm competitiveness, and strengthening farmers’ positions in the value chain. These insights have been used to inform future training, strategic planning, and the engagement of key AKIS actors.
